The Broadening Horizons Program - STEM
Providing children the opportunity to access STEM Experiences.
Ardoch’s Broadening Horizons program provides children with inspiring learning and life experiences to positively impact their educational outcomes.
STEM Broadening Horizons experiences give students the opportunity to build their confidence, aspirations and openness to new experiences and learning environments.
Ardoch partners with a range of other organisations to provide access to a wide range of STEM programs. From wildlife incursions to trips to Scienceworks to learning about nature at the Royal Botanic Gardens there is something for every school. The range of organisations allows us to have a broad range of STEM programs allowing for schools to pick what their students need most at the time.
For too many of the families in the schools we partner with, excursions and incursions are just not in the budget. And that means children who are already facing significant disadvantage further miss out. Working closely with our partner schools, we provide incursions that best meet the needs of the students to ensure no child misses out on the chance to learn about the world around them.
Currently, 75 per cent of jobs in the fastest-growing industries require workers with STEM skills. Students from communities facing disadvantage are 3 years behind their peers in both science and mathematics making it harder for them to reach their full potential. Due to this they are less likely to aspire to a STEM career that they feel they aren't prepared for. Our programs help to close this gap by giving them greater exposure to STEM.

Yes, we are registered with the ACNC. We are also registered to fundraise across Australia and are members of the Fundraising Institute of Australia.
Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes, all donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Will I receive a receipt?
You will receive tax receipt via email when you give a one-off donation. If you are a monthly donor, you will receive an annual tax receipt at the end of the financial year.
